This weekend I entered the Bartg RTTY Sprint contest. I’m not really a RTTY man, but I like this mode when doing a contest. As every time I join a contest, I had to figure out N1MM all over again. I don’t use it enough. But in the end it was ok just in time for the contest and everything worked like a charm.
I didn’t do the whole 24 hours, just a few hours on Saturday afternoon and a few hours on Sunday morning. Didn’t run one CQ at all, just S&P on 40, 20, 15 and 10. If I may say so: a decent score.
I was in the BARTG Sprint as well. Worked at least one PA in the contest. Didn’t spot your signal. Maybe next time. 73, Jim, K5ND
Hi Jim, would be great to meet you in some contest! I think it would be a challenge to find each other due to time differences. Will you participate in the PACC-contest in the weekend of 9/10th of February (shameless plug)? Same time schedule as the BARTG Sprint. I’ll participate in voice (CW not fast enough yet unfortunately…) 73, Jim
Well, I don’t usually plug in my microphone. I have exactly two countries worked on SSB — USA, which happened during Jamboree on the Air, and Kirimati, who I called on a lark during Jamboree on the Air and they actually came back to me. We’ll probably connect on one of the RTTY contests — perhaps CQ WW RTTY that’s coming up soon. 73, Jim.
HI Jim, two SSB-contacts isn’t much! You got the professional voice for it. I hope to enter the Triathlon RTTY contest for a few hours (RTTY part: 0:00 – 7:59 UTC). The CQ WW RTTY WPX is in the same weekend as the PACC-contest. So I have to compromise between these to, but maybe we meet! 73, Jim
